Swan Reach weekend

Report and photos from Shirley.

19 riders enjoyed great weather, and ably led by Dave who had us enjoying morning tea at Nungurner before riding onto Metund for lunch in the gardens.
Next day again morning tea at Bruthen and then up and up the Tambo bluff crowning Ken the king of the bluff.
We were too early for lunch at Bruthen so enjoyed a counter lunch back at Swan Reach Hotel. The facilities at the Swan Reach Park were enjoyed by all with few enjoying a welcome swim in the pool.

Pedals will be back on deck for the next ride with ample time to observe.

Bob Graham Ride

The Bob Graham ride on Sunday turned out better than any had expected. The unstable weather of previous days had cleared for a fine sunny day with light airs. We had a good turnout on the day with with 18 riders taking to the course. The numbers were boosted significantly by visitors from the Stratford Wednesday squad. Your attendance was most welcome. Another new couple was AJ and Paula on the electric tandem. There was only one fall for the day, luckily happening whilst stationary resulting in minimal injuries. Those who chose to complete the total distance encountered a small water hazard during the final stages. The fearless (foolish?) leader pressed on the check the depth and when turned around found the group had disappeared. Perhaps they did not wish to dismantle their wheels to enable them to dry out. The boys and girls from the Heyfield Lions put on a lovely BBQ lunch for us complete with what must be award winning scones.
